Beirut Ambassador Debunks CNN TÜRK Claim of Foreigners Being Brought in Instead of Turks
Beirut Ambassador Ali Barış Ulusoy recently made a statement addressing the lies and false claims surrounding the evacuation process from Lebanon. Ulusoy emphasized that the allegations about foreigners being prioritized over Turkish citizens are unfounded and have deeply wounded the team involved in the operation.
Contrary to the rumors, no Turkish citizen was sent back during the evacuation process. Ulusoy described the operation as more challenging than initially anticipated, citing various factors that prolonged the process. One such factor was the need to verify the relationships of non-Turkish citizens claiming to be first-degree relatives of Turkish citizens, which required time-consuming documentation.
Operating within the territory of a third country, Lebanon, the Turkish team had to collaborate with Lebanese authorities, including government ministers and police, to ensure a smooth evacuation process. Despite the obstacles faced, the operation successfully evacuated Turkish citizens from Lebanon without any incidents.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs further confirmed that a total of 966 individuals are being evacuated from Lebanon, highlighting the ongoing efforts to ensure the safe return of Turkish citizens in coordination with local authorities. The statement from Ambassador Ulusoy serves as a reminder of the challenges and complexities involved in such operations, dispelling misconceptions and reaffirming the dedication of the Turkish team to prioritize the safety and well-being of its citizens.
