Belarus Creates World’s First Feature-Length Animated Film Using Artificial Intelligence
Belarus has made history by producing the world’s first feature-length animated film using artificial intelligence, as reported by BelTA.
The film, titled “Belovezhskaya Pushcha” (Belovezhskaya Forest), was created by the Belarusian studio Arteki. It is an engaging adventure comedy with elements of fantasy that explores themes of friendship, family, and the power of nature. Filled with authentic storytelling, pleasant music, kindness, and humor, the film aims to captivate audiences of all ages.
The inspiration for the film came from the song “Belovezhskaya Pushcha”, and the project’s directors quickly realized the potential for a full-length animated feature. The trailer for the film was produced in just 24 hours, sparking interest and enthusiasm among the team.
Oleg Atyakshev, the Director of Arteki Studio and one of the film’s producers, expressed that the trailer resonated with many viewers, prompting the decision to develop the project further. By utilizing artificial intelligence in the production process, the team was able to create “Belovezhskaya Pushcha” in a remarkably short period of 2.5 months, as opposed to the typical 30 months to 6 years required for a traditional animated film.
“At first, we only had an idea without a script. We improvised, adapted, and developed the visuals simultaneously, resulting in the creation of a feature-length film in just 2.5 months,” shared Oleg Atyakshev.
The decision to expedite the project was driven by the team’s desire to showcase Belarus’ innovation in the field of animation on a global scale. “Belovezhskaya Pushcha” is set to be presented at various film festivals and will eventually be distributed to wider audiences.
This groundbreaking achievement marks a significant milestone in the world of animation, demonstrating the creative potential of artificial intelligence in storytelling and filmmaking.
