Belgian Prime Minister announces €1B aid package for Ukraine in 2025
Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever has made a significant announcement regarding aid to Ukraine. He revealed that his government has approved a new bilateral aid package of one billion euros ($1.10 billion) for Ukraine in 2025. Furthermore, he expressed his ambition to provide the war-torn country with at least the same amount every year during his term.
This announcement came during a press conference in Kyiv, where Prime Minister De Wever stood alongside Ukrainian President Volodmymyr Zelenskyy. In addition to the aid package, Belgium also pledged to deliver all the fighter planes it had promised to Ukraine.
“We will be sending two F-16s for spare parts this year and are committed to delivering two fighter planes next year. While we hope to do more, our ability to fulfill this promise is contingent on the delivery of the F-35. There are currently delays with the F-35, but once it arrives, the F-16 will be dispatched accordingly,” stated Prime Minister De Wever.
