Bir-Duino Kyrgyzstan to Host Civil Forum on Women’s Rights and Labor Rights in Bishkek
On March 4th at 10 a.m., the Public Association Bir-Duino Kyrgyzstan will be hosting a civil forum near the monument to Urkuya Salieva in Bishkek in honor of International Women’s Day. The forum aims to emphasize the importance of the role of women in promoting labor rights from the local to the global level. Community leaders, civil activists, decision-makers, diplomats, experts from international organizations, members of Parliament, the Ombudsman Institute, and journalists are all invited to participate.
The forum program will consist of three main components. The first will be a discussion on “The Role of Women in Promoting UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and the National Action Plan to Achieve Gender Equality and Promote Women’s Rights in Kyrgyzstan.” The second will focus on the protection and promotion of labor rights within the context of the Programme for the Implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights for 2025-2027. The final component will explore the struggle for peace and sustainable development, specifically looking at the role of the OSCE in maintaining the sustainability of human dimension values.
This forum provides a valuable opportunity for stakeholders to come together, discuss important issues related to women’s rights and labor rights, and work towards creating a more equitable and just society.
