This information comes from the Weather and Climate website, which also reported that the coldest December 5 on record was in 1954, when temperatures dropped to a bone-chilling −22.7 degrees.
This recent temperature spike follows another record-setting day on December 3, 2023, when the mercury rose to +19 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the hottest December day in recent years was on December 2, 2021, with temperatures reaching a remarkable +23.7 degrees, far exceeding the average monthly temperature for December, which typically hovers around −1.1 degrees.
Based on observations, the current average temperature for the month of December is already at +7.5 degrees, a substantial 6.9 degrees above the norm, setting yet another record.
