November 27, 2023 sets record for hottest day in Bishkek’s history
According to the Weather and Climate website, November 27, 2023, has become the hottest day in the history of meteorological observations in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The maximum air temperature in the capital reached +21 degrees Celsius, which is 8.9 degrees above the normal temperature for this time of year. This surpasses the previous record set in 1954, when the temperature dropped to a chilly −28 degrees.
This recent record-breaking temperature is not an isolated event, as other hot days in November have also been recorded. On November 16 and November 17, the temperature reached +24.5 and +24.7 degrees Celsius, respectively, marking these dates as some of the hottest in the month of November.
While these temperatures may be surprising for November, it is not the first time that Bishkek has experienced such warmth. However, the average monthly temperature in November typically hovers around +4.2 degrees.
As temperatures continue to fluctuate and break previous records, it is clear that Bishkek’s climate is experiencing noticeable changes. The effects of these temperature shifts are being closely observed by meteorologists and residents alike, as they prepare for potentially drastic changes in the regional climate.
