PISA 2025 Testing Begins in the Kyrgyz Republic

On April 1, 2025, the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) was officially launched in the Kyrgyz Republic. This year, children born between January 1 and December 31, 2009 are participating in the testing, as reported by the press service of the Bishkek City Hall.

A total of 27 schools in the Pervomaisky district were selected for the testing, including schools No. 49, 86, 83, 24, 70, and 41. Each school will have 40 students taking part, making a total of 240 children involved in the assessment.

In the Oktyabrsky district, schools No. 3, 20, 37, 88, 62, and 112 were chosen from 22 schools. At least 42 students from each school will participate, totaling 252 children.

Meanwhile, in the Sverdlovsky district, 8 schools out of 35 were selected for the testing: 1, 10, 38, 46, 51, 66, 67, and 111.

In the Leninsky district, the assessment will be conducted in six schools, with at least 42 students from each school participating in the international testing.

Students in Kyrgyzstan prepared for PISA 2025 using the Cerebri platform, and teachers underwent training in 2024 to ensure they were ready for the assessment.

Overall, more than 6,700 schoolchildren across Kyrgyzstan will be taking part in PISA 2025, providing valuable insights into the academic performance of students in the country.
