Surveillance Cameras to be Installed in Schools and Kindergartens in Bishkek
In a recent session of the Bishkek City Council, it was proposed to install surveillance cameras in schools and kindergartens in the city. Vice Mayor Mirlan Baigonchokov mentioned that there is currently no allocated budget for this initiative in the capital for the year 2025. However, the Main Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek had previously requested this measure, and now the city authorities are working to secure funding for the installation of cameras.
Despite the financial challenges, the vice mayor expressed confidence that the necessary funds will be found and the cameras will be installed as planned. City Council deputies have also noted that the Main Internal Affairs Department has asked for access to surveillance servers in order to monitor activities in educational institutions. Additionally, plans are in place to implement facial recognition systems to help identify potential criminals in the vicinity of schools and kindergartens.
