Bishkek’s Infrastructure Being Upgraded for Improved Watering
Bishkek, April 18, 2025 – The Bishkekzelenstroy municipal enterprise is currently working on renovating the irrigation systems in the districts of the capital city in order to improve the city’s infrastructure and ensure uninterrupted watering. This initiative was recently announced by the press service of the City Hall.
The employees of the municipal enterprise are busy installing trays and ditch canals, which will serve as a conduit for water to flow to green areas such as lawns, trees, and flower beds. These systems are crucial in ensuring efficient watering of the city’s green spaces.
The renovation work is being carried out in park areas, main streets, and public spaces. The irrigation canals are being laid out in a strategic manner, taking into consideration the landscape and existing utilities, to ensure that water reaches the required points as efficiently as possible.
It is worth noting that all canals and trays where work is already underway were cleaned in the fall of 2024 and again in the spring of this year to ensure smooth flow of water. The City Hall is making a plea to the residents to refrain from clogging the newly installed trays, ditches, and drainage canals.
With these ongoing efforts to upgrade the city’s irrigation systems, Bishkek is moving towards a greener and more sustainable future.
