Blogger arrested for extortion in Jalal-Abad City
A blogger in Jalal-Abad city has been detained by the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (SCNS) for extortion through blackmail. The blogger, identified as R. kyzy Ch., was apprehended on February 13 for extorting money from a resident of Suzak district by threatening to distribute fake photos and videos of an intimate relationship with his stepdaughter.
According to reports, the suspect used violence and threats to force the victim’s stepdaughter to take naked photos and videos, which she then used to extort 184,000 soms from the man. The SCNS is currently investigating the case and urging any potential victims of R. kyzy Ch. to come forward and contact the Main Department of SCNS for Jalal-Abad region, or call the numbers 0995012210 or 0372256049.
This incident marks the third case of a blogger being detained in Jalal-Abad city for extortion. The authorities are committed to cracking down on such criminal activities and ensuring the safety and security of their citizens.
