A Storm and Heavy Rain Cause Chaos in Bodrum, Turkey
The Bodrum district of Muğla, Turkey, experienced a significant storm and downpour that had a negative impact on the area. The waves reached over 3 meters in length, causing streets and avenues to turn into streams. In addition, the heavy fog on the Marmaris Sakar Pass route reduced visibility to 5 meters.
Following the warning from the 4th Regional Directorate of Meteorology, the storm began affecting Bodrum in the morning hours. The waves exceeded 3 meters in height, leading authorities to issue a warning to fishermen, advising them not to go to sea.
The storm brought a heavy thunderstorm that transformed the streets and avenues into streams, making it difficult for vehicle drivers and local people to navigate. The Turgutreis Covered Market Place also experienced flooding, causing hardship for tradesmen and citizens.
The fog affecting the Sakar Pass in the Marmaris-Muğla direction further complicated matters, reducing visibility to 5 meters and making it challenging for drivers.
However, it was reported that the impact of the shower in Bodrum is expected to diminish in the evening hours, bringing relief to the affected area.
