Boosting Agricultural Growth: Bakyt Torobaev Shares Info on Credit Programs

The main agenda of the meeting was to discuss the implementation of preferential state loans for farmers. This initiative aims to support agriculture in various aspects such as crop production, livestock farming, water-saving technologies, and the financing of united commodity producers.

A specific focus was put on the Financing of United Commodity Producers project which was launched in 2025. This project is geared towards encouraging the consolidation of small-scale production and providing state assistance to united commodity producers through accessible and preferential loans. The project is set to run for a period of five years and is funded by the republican budget and state banks.

Under the terms of the Financing of United Commodity Producers project, various entities can benefit from the scheme. For instance, united commodity producers engaged in livestock farming and crop production can apply for loans of up to 25 million soms at an interest rate of 6% per annum for a duration of up to 60 months. Similarly, processing industry enterprises that have formed cluster associations with commodity producers can receive loans of up to 150 million soms at the same interest rate for the same duration. Additionally, businesses involved in efficient and resource-saving technologies such as drip irrigation, greenhouse farming, and leasing of agricultural machinery can access loans of up to 50 million soms at the same interest rate for 60 months.

This initiative is expected to boost the agricultural sector in Kyrgyzstan and support farmers in enhancing their production capabilities through financial assistance.
