The Bosphorus Strait Closed for Cabotage Day Celebrations
The General Directorate of Coastal Safety has announced that the Bosphorus Strait will be closed to ship traffic in the north-south direction due to the July 1 Cabotage Day celebrations and the Moda Marine Club (MDK) Cabotage Cup Yacht Races.
In a recent statement, the General Directorate of Coastal Safety informed that starting from 07.10 o’clock, the Bosphorus Strait will be closed temporarily to allow the smooth organization of the Cabotage Day celebrations and yacht races. This closure is aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the participants and spectators.
Cabotage Day, which is celebrated annually on July 1, commemorates the establishment of the Turkish maritime policy that grants exclusive rights to Turkish-flagged ships to operate in domestic waters.
