President Erdoğan Visits Egypt After 12 Years for Important Meetings on Energy Cooperation
President Erdoğan of Turkey recently made a significant visit to Egypt, the first in 12 years, during which important meetings were held to discuss energy cooperation between the two nations.
One of the key meetings was between the senior management of BOTAŞ, Turkey’s state-owned oil and gas company, and EGAS, Egypt’s natural gas company. The discussions focused on natural gas and LNG trading opportunities, cooperation on natural gas infrastructure and underground storages, as well as sharing technical knowledge and experience.
The aim of these meetings is to increase Turkey’s energy diversity and strengthen international cooperation with the ultimate goal of establishing the country as an energy center. While no concrete steps have been taken yet, the meetings are seen as positive signals of future cooperation, and an agreement was reached between BOTAŞ and EGAS to deepen their relations.
