BP extends partnership agreement with National Olympic and Paralympic Committees of Azerbaijan until 2028

BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) Limited (BP) has announced the extension of their partnership agreement with the National Olympic Committee (NOC) and the National Paralympic Committee of Azerbaijan (NPC Azerbaijan) until the end of 2028. The agreement was signed by NOC Vice President Chingiz Huseynzada, NPC President Ilgar Rahimov, and BP’s Vice President for Communications and External Relations in the Caspian region, Solaterali Aslanbayli.

The partnership, first established in January 2012, has been renewed several times over the years, in 2013, 2016, and 2022. This extension demonstrates BP’s long-term commitment to supporting sports in Azerbaijan.

NOC President Chingiz Huseynzada expressed his hope for continued support from BP for Azerbaijani athletes beyond the upcoming Los Angeles Games in 2028, depending on the results they achieve. NPC President Ilgar Rahimov also expressed optimism that BP’s support will lead to the highest achievements by Azerbaijani Paralympians.

Aslanbayli highlighted BP’s longstanding collaboration with various stakeholders in Azerbaijan to support national sports and create opportunities for the country’s teams and athletes to excel on the international stage. He emphasized that BP will continue to contribute to the development of national sports in Azerbaijan, aligning with the company’s commitment to the country’s sustainable future.

Since their operations began in Azerbaijan, BP has contributed over $111 million towards social projects, further demonstrating their dedication to supporting the local community and promoting sports development in the country.
