Breaking: Arrest Warrants Issued for 9 Including Mother in Narin Güran Murder Case
The investigation into the murder of Narin Güran, a young girl who went missing in the Tavşantepe Neighborhood of the central Bağlar district on August 21 and was later found dead in the Eğertutmaz Stream on September 8, continues under the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
A total of 22 suspects, including Narin Güran’s mother, father, brothers, uncles, and the wife of her uncle Salim Güran, were detained in connection with the case. Following the completion of procedures at the gendarmerie, the suspects were brought to the courthouse. Nine of the suspects were referred to the court with a request for arrest, three were referred with a request for judicial control, while 10 were released.
Among the suspects, Narin Güran’s mother, sister, cousins, and other relatives are facing charges related to the murder. The mother and brother of the victim have been accused of being accessories to premeditated murder. Meanwhile, the father of Narin Güran has been released.
The uncle of the victim, Salim Güran, was arrested on September 2 after a search operation was launched for the missing girl. Diyarbakır Governor Murat Zorluoğlu confirmed that Narin Güran’s lifeless body was found on September 8 near the Eğertutmaz Creek, hidden in a sack and covered with stones.
One of the suspects, Nevzat Bahtiyar, claimed in his statement to the gendarmerie that his uncle Salim Güran had asked him to dispose of the body of the victim in the stream in exchange for money. Bahtiyar was subsequently arrested for his involvement in the crime.
As the investigation continues, one suspect who was reported to be working as an imam in the neighborhood has been released after questioning by the authorities. The case has shocked the community and raised questions about the circumstances surrounding Narin Güran’s tragic death.
