A devastating fire broke out at Grand Kartal Hotel, located at the summit of the Köroğlu Mountains in the ski center of Kartalkaya on January 21. It was reported that during breakfast preparations in the kitchen, an angry oil on the grill caught fire, leading to panic among the kitchen staff. In a desperate attempt to extinguish the flames, water was thrown on the burning oil, causing the fire to escalate rapidly. The flames eventually spread to the hotel, resulting in a catastrophic outcome.

Among those arrested in connection with the incident are Cook Faisal Yaver and kitchen employees Mehmet Gündüz, Yusuf Karahanlı, and Fidan Kurç. The tragic event has sent shockwaves through the community and has highlighted the importance of adhering to safety protocols in all establishments to prevent such disasters from occurring in the future.
