MHP Leader Warns Against Street Calls by CHP and Its Supporters
In a recent evaluation made to Türkgün Newspaper, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli expressed his concern over the street calls initiated by the Republican People’s Party (CHP), supported by some TV channels’ commentators. He emphasized that these calls are a dangerous attempt to disrupt Turkey’s public order.
Bahçeli stated that these calls, which threaten social peace, are a serious issue and are aimed at disrupting public order. Despite claiming to be made in the name of democracy and freedoms, these calls are manifestations of anti-democratic aspirations and are insincere and not innocent.
He highlighted the importance of sincerity and honesty in human life, citing the words of Mevlana, “Be as you appear, or appear as you are,” as a universal advice. Bahçeli emphasized that sincerity is not only an individual virtue but also the foundation of social order and moral values.
He further pointed out that the misuse of universal values and ethical principles that represent social unity in politics has deepened the issue of sincerity in politics. Bahçeli expressed concern about the exploitation and misuse of these values for personal or political gains, as it not only undermines social trust but also seriously damages democratic order.
He criticized the current political approach of the CHP, stating that it is far from moral principles and sincerity, and is based on lies and defamation. Bahçeli emphasized the importance of embracing a sincere approach that includes all sectors of society, based on universal moral and scientific realities.
He pointed out that the media also plays a role in supporting irresponsible statements that contribute to social tension and polarization, leading to widespread use of hate speech and incitement to discord.
Bahçeli stressed the importance of the media acting responsibly and adhering to ethical principles while fulfilling their duty to inform and enlighten the public. He emphasized that freedom of speech should be balanced with responsibilities to protect social peace and public order.
In conclusion, Bahçeli warned against the dangers of inciting street protests and emphasized the need for political parties and media to act responsibly to prevent social unrest and uphold democratic values. He called for a commitment to national unity, respect for elected officials, and adherence to the rule of law as essential principles for a democratic society.
