
Breaking News: Edip Akbayram Passes Away

Master artist Edip Akbayram, known for his contributions to Anatolian rock music, has passed away at the age of 75. He had been receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital since January 4th. His daughter Türkü Akbayram recently shared an emotional message expressing her deep love and longing for her father.
Türkü Akbayram shared a heartfelt message along with a photo of her father, saying, “I miss you so much, Dad. We are all waiting for you with hope and longing.” She reminisced about the moments spent together and expressed her love for her father.
Born in Gaziantep on December 29, 1950, Edip Akbayram faced challenges early in life when he contracted paralysis at just 9 months old. Despite these obstacles, he went on to establish himself as a talented musician and artist. He formed his own orchestra and released several hit songs, including “Kukredi Cimleri” based on a poem by Aşık Veysel.
Throughout his career, Edip Akbayram achieved great success with songs like “Alma Gonul” and “Eşkiya Olmaz to the World,” earning him a gold plaque. He became a prominent figure in Anatolian rock music and continued to captivate audiences with his unique style and compositions.
In addition to his musical achievements, Edip Akbayram was a devoted family man, marrying Ayten in 1979 and raising two children, a son named Ozan and a daughter named Türkü.
The passing of Edip Akbayram has left a void in the Turkish music industry, but his legacy will endure through his timeless songs and contributions to the music scene. He will be remembered as a talented artist who made a lasting impact on Anatolian rock music.
