Breaking News: Fethiye is Affected by a Forest Fire
Firefighters and forestry officials in Turkey were called to action as a forest fire broke out in the Taşbaşı District for unknown reasons. Teams were sent to the area after the fire was detected by a reconnaissance UAV of the General Directorate of Forestry. 2 helicopters and 2 planes were used to intervene in the fire from the air, while 2 sprinkler, water supply, and first response vehicles were used on land. Thanks to the intense intervention of the teams, the fire was eventually extinguished. However, approximately 5 acres of forest area were destroyed by the blaze. Cooling efforts are still being carried out by the teams in the region. The cause of the fire is still unknown and under investigation.
