Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office Investigates False Claims Surrounding CHP Congress
Hürriyet Newspaper Ankara Representative Hande Fırat recently shared information on CNN Türk regarding alleged security measures taken in Ankara. According to Fırat, all security permits have been canceled, leading to the cancellation of the upcoming CHP Congress scheduled for November 2023. Additionally, it was claimed that the CHP would be assigned a temporary trustee, sparking outrage and accusations of spreading false information.
In response to these claims, Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunç emphasized the importance of not spreading unverified information that could mislead the public. The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the individual responsible for spreading these rumors, following similar investigations into previous instances of false information.
The Disinformation Anti-Fighting Center has also refuted the allegations of a CHP trustee appointment, labeling them as manipulation. The ongoing judicial process related to the cancellation of the CHP Congress is being conducted in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
Former Mayor of Hatay Lütfü Savaş and other delegates have taken legal action to challenge the cancellation of the CHP Congress. These lawsuits have been combined into a single case, with the first hearing set to take place soon. It is important to note that decisions made by independent courts will be communicated directly to all parties involved during the legal proceedings.
In light of these developments, it is crucial not to rely on unfounded claims that could distort public perception of the judicial process. The truth will come to light through the proper legal channels and should be respected accordingly.
