BREAKING NEWS: Minister Yerlikaya Announces First Trace of Rojin with Headscarf Found
The search for university student Rojin Kabaiş, who has been missing in Van since September 27, is still ongoing as authorities work tirelessly to find any clues to her whereabouts. Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya recently made a statement regarding the case, announcing the discovery of a headscarf that belonged to Rojin.
Rojin Kabaiş, a 21-year-old student, was last seen walking on the beach before her disappearance. The headscarf, which was found washed up on the shores of Lake Van, was identified by Rojin’s family as belonging to her.
Special teams have been deployed by the Van Police Department to investigate the case, monitoring 350 hours of camera footage from the university and surrounding areas. Bardakçı and Çitören Neighborhoods have been mapped, with 12 cameras and 275 hours of footage examined for any leads.
Additionally, 120 hours of recordings from university transportation vehicles were reviewed, and all evidence and images were sent to the Van Gendarmerie Criminal Directorate for further analysis. A sonar device has been brought in to conduct bottom scanning of the lake.
Search efforts involve 50 teams and 250 personnel, including divers, search dogs, drones, boats, helicopters, and more. Areas like outbuildings, abandoned locations, reeds, and loggar areas are being examined around the clock in the hopes of finding Rojin.
