Erdoğan Calls Out Israel’s Attacks in Gaza and West Bank
During his speech at the UN General Assembly, President Erdoğan addressed Israel’s attacks in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, highlighting the humanitarian crisis. Erdoğan stated, “Not only children are dying in Gaza, but the United Nations system is also dying. Truth is dying. The values that the West claims to defend are dying. Hopes for humanity to live in a fairer world are dying one by one. I ask openly, are the people in Gaza and the West Bank not human? Do Palestinian children not have the right to read, live, play on the streets? Journalists who were attacked and killed on live broadcasts by Israel, are they not your colleagues? United Nations Security Council, what are you waiting for to stop the genocide in Gaza, to put an end to this tyranny and barbarism? What more are you waiting for to stop the massacre gang that risks the lives of its own citizens and drags the entire region into war for its political future? Those who unconditionally support Israel, how long will you bear the shame of watching this massacre, being complicit in this brutality?”
Erdoğan also criticized the UN, stating that it is becoming increasingly dysfunctional and inactive. He emphasized the need for the UN to fulfill its founding mission to maintain global peace and security. Erdoğan urged the international community to take action against Israel’s atrocities and to protect the civilians in Palestine.
Regarding the situation in Palestine, Erdoğan highlighted the alarming number of casualties, including children and women, as a result of Israel’s continuous attacks. He mentioned the plight of Gazans who are struggling with hunger and thirst, while hospitals and schools are being destroyed.
Erdoğan praised the resistance of the Palestinian people against occupation and emphasized the need for a just and legitimate solution to the conflict. He called on the international community to support the rights of the Palestinian people and to hold Israel accountable for its crimes.
President Erdoğan also addressed the situation in other conflict regions, such as Syria, Iraq, and Ukraine, urging for peaceful resolutions and international support for stability and development.
In conclusion, Erdoğan reiterated Turkey’s commitment to standing with the oppressed and against oppressors, emphasizing the country’s historical legacy of supporting those in need. He called for solidarity with the Palestinian people and urged the international community to recognize the rights of all nations, including the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
