Turkey’s ANKA 3 Makes History as First UAV to Fire Ammunition from Inside Body
ANKA 3, an innovative project in Turkey’s defense industry, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to fire ammunition from inside its body. The successful firing, conducted using ASELSAN’s domestically produced Tolun ammunition at an altitude of 20,000 feet and a speed of 180 knots, once again showcased the operational capabilities of ANKA 3.
Developed under the auspices of the Presidency of Defense Industries, ANKA 3’s unique ability to carry and fire ammunition from within its hull contributes to maintaining a low radar signature. This groundbreaking technology is expected to provide both logistical and operational advantages on the battlefield in the future.
Experts believe that the capability demonstrated by ANKA 3 in this project will significantly enhance its effectiveness in combat situations. The successful shot from inside the hull reaffirms that ANKA 3 was designed to meet the objectives of achieving low radar visibility and increasing operational efficiency.
