Breaking News: YÖK and Defense Industry Collaborate on “Artificial Intelligence”
The defense industry is taking a step towards enhancing the quality of its workforce by incorporating artificial intelligence into academic programs. In an effort to meet the current demands of the sector, artificial intelligence will now be integrated as a graduation project in universities and as a thesis study in master’s degrees.
The goal of this initiative is to train skilled professionals who can effectively contribute to the defense industry. By focusing on artificial intelligence, the program aims to elevate competencies in this field, address the need for qualified human resources, and foster collaboration between academia and industry.
Through the “Artificial Intelligence Academic Thesis Program”, developed in partnership with the Council of Higher Education and the Presidency of Defense Industries, undergraduate and graduate students will have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge to practical projects. This will enable them to play a key role in shaping future technologies and driving innovation in artificial intelligence.
Students in various fields such as engineering, technology, natural sciences, electrical-electronics, computer science, and aviation and astronautics are encouraged to apply to the program. Additionally, those pursuing master’s degrees in related fields or studying in science faculties programs like mathematics, physics, and statistics are also eligible to participate.
Applications for the program will be accepted through the Visionary Young platform of the Presidency of Defense Industries until October 25. Successful applicants will be announced on October 31, and will have access to opportunities such as internships, candidate engineering programs, and project support tailored to their skills and capabilities.
This collaboration between the defense industry and educational institutions marks a significant step towards developing a qualified workforce that can meet the evolving demands of the sector. By focusing on artificial intelligence, this program aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become valuable contributors to the defense industry.
