Uzbekistan and Great Britain Discuss New Opportunities for Trade and Investment Cooperation
The Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, held discussions with Tim Reid, CEO of UK Export Finance (UKEF), discussing new business ventures between the two countries.
According to the Ministry, the talks focused on the substantial potential for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Great Britain, particularly in the areas of investment and trade.
Kudratov and Reid were pleased to note that the volume of commerce between the two nations doubled last year, a highlight of the conversation. During the meeting, UKEF reportedly expressed interest in funding investment projects for the construction of highways, as well as solar and wind power stations, and the extraction and processing of minerals.
UKEF is a government agency that aims to support and encourage the export of British products and services by providing loans, guarantees, insurance, advisory assistance, and other forms of support.
This discussion paves the way for the further development of Uzbekistan’s relationship with Great Britain, with the potential for further investment and trade opportunities in the future.
