Budapest Airport Wins “Best Airport in Eastern Europe” Title for 12th Time
Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport has once again clinched the title of the “Best Airport in Eastern Europe” at the 2025 World Airport Awards by the rating company Skytrax. The prestigious award was presented at the Passenger Terminal EXPO exhibition in Madrid on April 9. Additionally, the Hungarian capital’s airport has moved up ten places in the top 100 rankings, now sitting at 67th place.
This marks the twelfth consecutive year that Budapest Airport has won the Skytrax Prize, a testament to its commitment to providing exceptional services and facilities to passengers. The award is based on the World Airport Survey, where passengers from over 100 nationalities share their feedback on various aspects of their travel experience, from check-in to departure.
Francois Taste, CEO of Budapest Airport, expressed the airport’s dedication to enhancing the passenger experience by expanding Terminal 2 and commencing the construction of Terminal 3. He emphasized the airport’s goal of maintaining high-quality services for both Hungarian citizens and visitors to the country.
In addition to the Skytrax Award, Budapest Airport has also been recognized with the Airport Service Quality Award for the best European airport handling 15-25 million passengers. This further solidifies the airport’s reputation for excellence in customer service and operations.
While Budapest Airport continues to shine in the rankings, competitors such as Warsaw and Prague did not make it to the top 100. Meanwhile, Vienna slipped from 13th place to 15th in the global rankings. In the overall rankings, Singapore Changi Airport secured the top spot, followed by Hamad International Airport in Doha and Tokyo Haneda Airport.

Budapest Airport’s consistent performance in these rankings underscores its unwavering dedication to passenger satisfaction and operational excellence.
