Building Stronger Relationships: Uzbekistan and South Korea Collaborate on Construction Material Testing

A delegation from Uzbekistan is currently in South Korea, visiting various industry structures and establishments to foster cooperation and partnerships. The delegation consists of representatives from “Uzsanoatqurilishmateriallari,” “Uzsanoatqurilishbank,” and other related industry structures.
One of the key meetings during this visit took place at the Korea Material & Lab (KML), where the Uzbekistan delegates were introduced to the quality of construction materials and the operations of the testing laboratory. Following productive negotiations, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Uzbekistan’s “Uzsanoatqurilishmateriallari” association and KML to establish a testing laboratory.
This state-of-the-art laboratory is set to test around 300 quality indicators for over 30 construction materials according to international standards, once operational. KML, a leading provider of testing and certification services in South Korea, operates about 20 testing laboratories in the country, has representation in 6 countries, serves approximately 30,000 clients, and employs nearly a thousand highly trained specialists.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of further developing international connections in the production of building materials in Uzbekistan, utilizing modern technologies from abroad, including advanced laboratory complexes, and creating opportunities for laboratory testing of kaolin raw materials and other key products. This collaboration is expected to enhance the construction industry in Uzbekistan and strengthen ties between the two countries in the field of building materials.
