Bukhara Police Officials Fired Over Law Enforcement Criticism

Several senior officers in the Bukhara regional police department have been relieved of their duties following a meeting chaired by Minister of Internal Affairs Aziz Toshpulatov. The dismissals were based on serious shortcomings in their professional performance, as stated by the ministry’s press service.

During the meeting, Minister Toshpulatov presented the results of a comprehensive inspection conducted in Bukhara region. The national working group assessed law enforcement activities across the region, focusing on crime prevention, responsiveness to public complaints, service delivery, public order, traffic safety, and adherence to professional discipline.

As a result of the inspection, a number of senior officials were dismissed by ministerial order. Additionally, disciplinary measures were imposed on other officials to address their lapses. Plans were put in place to improve the material and technical resources of the regional and district/city police departments.

Furthermore, a similar meeting held in Kashkadarya region led to the dismissal of several police officials. This demonstrates the government’s commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and accountability within law enforcement agencies.
