Bülent Ersoy’s Life Story to Be Adapted into a Movie
Bülent Ersoy, Iconic Turkish Singer, to be Featured in New Biopic
The life of Bülent Ersoy, one of the most iconic names in Turkish popular culture, is set to be adapted for film by Orchestra Content, the producer of hit films such as “Bergen” and “Sevda Mecburi Istikamet”. The biographical film will explore previously unknown aspects of Ersoy’s life and will be the first time that the true story of the “Turkey’s Diva” is brought to the big screen.
Ersoy has had a career spanning over 50 years, giving concerts at prestigious venues such as the London Palladium, Madison Square Garden, and Olympia, and producing numerous hit songs. The as-yet-unnamed director who will bring Ersoy’s life to the big screen has not yet been announced.
The project is being developed by a team of consultants that includes journalist Tuğrul Eryılmaz, psychiatrist Cemal Dindar, sociologist Göksel Aymaz, journalist-writer Gülşen İşeri, music historian Murat Meriç, writer Murat Özyaşar, and writer-dramaturg Erdinç Ulutaş. The team has begun working on the script for the film.
Orchestra Content announced the project on their Instagram account, stating that they are honored to be working on the film and are approaching the project with enthusiasm, love, and a great sense of responsibility. The biographical film about Ersoy is the latest addition to a new wave of domestic biographical films that has included hits like “Muslim”, “Bergen”, and “Dilberay”.
