Bunyodkor FC to Pay €9.5 Million for Rivaldo and Denilson

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has made a decision regarding the long-standing financial dispute between Uzbek club Bunyodkor and former Brazilian players Rivaldo and Denilson. According to documents obtained by Tribuna.uz, FIFA has instructed the Uzbekistan Football Association to pay the outstanding amounts owed to Rivaldo (€8.1 million) and Denilson (€1.1 million).

The decision, made on February 22 by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, found Bunyodkor FC guilty of not fully complying with the previous rulings of the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber and the Court of Arbitration for Sport. As a result, Bunyodkor is required to pay Rivaldo and Denilson the amounts outlined in the decisions.

For Rivaldo, the payment includes unpaid prize money, compensation for contract termination, and expenses related to the arbitration proceedings. Denilson is owed bonus money, compensation for breach of contract, and arbitration expenses as well.

FIFA has given Bunyodkor a 30-day deadline to make these payments, with potential repercussions if the deadline is not met. In addition to the payments, Bunyodkor has been fined 30,000 Swiss francs for each player.

Rivaldo, who played for Bunyodkor from 2008 to 2010, helped the club win the Uzbekistan championship three times. Denilson, who joined the club in 2010, also contributed to their success in the league and AFC Champions League.

This decision by FIFA serves as a reminder of the importance of clubs fulfilling their financial obligations to former players, and the consequences that may result from non-compliance with FIFA rulings.
