Tragedy Strikes on Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep Highway: Passenger Bus Crashes and Catches Fire
A terrifying accident occurred in the early hours of the morning at the Adana West Tollbooth of Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep (TAG) Highway in Yenice Town. The passenger bus, operated by AS Adana company and en route from Adana to Ankara, crashed into a concrete barrier, causing it to burst into flames.
The bus, with 3 personnel and 18 passengers on board, quickly became engulfed in fire due to the force of the impact. In a panic, passengers threw themselves out of the vehicle to escape, helping to evacuate the injured and alerting the 112 Emergency Call Center.
Emergency services, including fire brigade, health, police, and gendarmerie teams, rushed to the scene upon receiving the distress call. Medical teams transported 6 injured individuals, including the bus driver, and several passengers affected by smoke inhalation to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Firefighters worked tirelessly to extinguish the flames, but the bus was left unusable, and the toll booth sustained damage as a result of the accident.
The gendarmerie has launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash, as authorities work to determine the cause of this tragic incident.
