BYD’s Jizzakh plant to produce affordable electric vehicles
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev recently visited the BYD plant in the Jizzakh region to review its activities and discuss future tasks. The visit highlighted the agreements made with Chinese partners to produce vehicles in various segments to meet the demand for passenger cars in Uzbekistan.
The Chinese partners have already provided samples for testing in laboratories to ensure they meet modern standardization systems. To support the full production cycle, an analysis of Uzbek enterprises producing various components was conducted to ensure compliance with BYD’s quality system.
Discussions also focused on implementing modern technologies and standards in production, trade, service, and warranty service to maintain high-quality products and services for customers. Plans were announced to establish an engineering and training center in Jizzakh in collaboration with educational institutions.
During the presentation, measures were discussed to increase production volumes, accelerate the localization process, and set targets for the joint venture BYD Uzbekistan Factory. The president set specific tasks to accelerate production, develop a strategy for future cooperation, increase production capacities, and enter export markets.
Overall, the visit emphasized the commitment to enhancing the automotive industry in Uzbekistan and ensuring the production of high-quality vehicles for both domestic and international markets.
