Kyrgyz Prime Minister Holds Meetings with American Corporations to Boost Cooperation

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev, recently conducted a series of bilateral meetings with top executives from large American corporations during his working visit to the United States of America. According to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, the discussions focused on exploring promising areas of cooperation in various sectors of the economy.
Key meetings were held with representatives from prominent companies:
– Boeing Regional Director Pavel Chichko discussed expanding cooperation in the aviation sector, including plans for modernizing Kyrgyzstan’s aviation infrastructure, and enhancing transit potential.
– IBM Vice President for Government and Regulatory Affairs Mike Harney explored the implementation of IBM IT solutions to enhance government agencies’ efficiency, optimize processes, and accelerate Kyrgyzstan’s digitalization efforts, with a particular emphasis on cybersecurity and data protection.
– Starlink Director of Global Licensing Rebecca Hunter delved into ensuring broad access to high-speed Internet across Kyrgyzstan, utilizing Starlink satellite technologies, even in remote and mountainous regions.
– White & Case LLP Partner Matthew Drossos explored legal support for investment projects, enhancing legislation for investor protection, and creating a conducive investment climate to attract international companies.
– SinoPowell Founding Executive Director Steve Powell discussed investment opportunities in mining projects, including the development of critical mineral deposits.
– Cove Capital Managing Partner Pini Althaus explored investment prospects in Kyrgyzstan’s energy sector and projects related to critical mineral extraction and processing.
Kasymaliev reiterated Kyrgyzstan government’s commitment to fostering a favorable investment climate, safeguarding investor rights, and providing comprehensive support for ongoing projects during all meetings. He also expressed Kyrgyzstan’s keen interest in attracting advanced technologies, knowledge, and capital to ensure sustainable economic growth, improve citizens’ standard of living, and implement innovative initiatives.
Additionally, the Prime Minister visited a VISA processing center to gain insights into advanced technologies and practices in financial transactions. This move is aimed at enhancing Kyrgyzstan’s financial sector and fostering greater cooperation in the field.
