Cabinet of Ministers Plans to Ban Operation of Slot Machines and Betting Offices in Kyrgyzstan
Bishkek – The Cabinet of Ministers in Kyrgyzstan has proposed a new bill that aims to restrict the operation of slot machines, betting offices, and betting pools outside of casinos. This move is part of an effort to consolidate all forms of gambling activities in one designated area, according to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
The draft law, which can be found on the website of the Parliament, suggests amending the Law on Gambling Activities in the Kyrgyz Republic. By enforcing this legislation, slot machine halls, betting offices, and betting pools will only be permitted to operate within the designated gaming area or in a separate room within a casino. Consequently, both the casino and the slot machine hall will be regarded as one gaming area under the ownership of a single entity.
The implementation of this proposed law is expected to enhance the effectiveness and oversight of state regulations on gambling organizers. Additionally, it aims to prevent the proliferation of various types of separate gambling establishments, such as casinos, bookmakers, and betting shops. The government believes that this consolidation will prevent any potential negative backlash from the public.
The new legislation demonstrates the government’s commitment to strengthening the regulation of gambling activities while maintaining the public’s trust. By concentrating all gambling-related operations within a specific area, the authorities hope to improve supervision and prevent unauthorized or unregulated gambling practices.
As the bill continues its legislative process, it is anticipated that discussions and deliberations will take place among lawmakers to ensure its successful adoption. The government remains focused on implementing measures that promote responsible gambling and safeguard the interests of both the industry and the public.
Overall, this proposed ban on slot machines, betting offices, and betting pools outside of casinos reflects the government’s dedication to maintaining a responsible gambling industry and protecting the welfare of the Kyrgyz Republic’s citizens.
