Cancellation of E-Invoice Requirement for Card-to-Card Transfers
Tax authorities in Uzbekistan will no longer collect information on card-to-card transfers after the Ministry of Economy and Finance was found to be violating laws and the Constitution. The presidential decree follows the Ministry’s failed attempt to introduce new legislation which would have required electronic invoices for services provided via payment service organisations, which would be in force from June 1, 2023. The new legislation also lifts restrictions on the opening hours of retail trade and service facilities from June 1. The collection of personal information on millions of citizens by tax authorities was deemed unconstitutional in the amended Constitution, which came into effect on May 1.
