Car Plunges off Cliffs into Sea in Antalya
An unfortunate incident occurred yesterday evening in Antalya, as a vehicle fell off the cliffs into the sea near Mobile Public Beach on Eski Lara Street in Şirinyalı District of Muratpaşa. Emergency response teams including firefighters, police, AFAD, coast guard, and medical teams rushed to the scene upon receiving the alert.
The teams immediately initiated a search operation based on the information provided by an eyewitness. Fire brigade and AFAD teams used rope equipment to search the cliffs, while marine police and coast guard teams scoured the sea in case the vehicle had submerged.
Provincial Police Chief İlker Arslan arrived at the scene and was briefed on the ongoing efforts. After a thorough search, the teams located an object among the waves which turned out to be the license plate of the car. The individual in the vehicle was identified as E. Ş., raising concerns about their well-being.
Despite facing challenges such as strong winds and waves, the teams continued their search late into the night to determine E. Ş.’s whereabouts. A thermal camera drone provided by AFAD was used to conduct a detailed search of the area.
As the investigation continues, authorities are working tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of the individual involved in this tragic incident.
