Catering Outlets in Kyrgyzstan See Over 50% Growth in One Year

The industry reflects changes in consumer habits and the country’s economy, with significant growth in the number of establishments in Bishkek and Osh, as well as an increase in residents’ spending on eating out.

In 2024, the number of catering outlets in the capital increased by 53.1 percent, from 2,247 to 3,440. In Osh, the growth was even higher at 57.2 percent, with establishments increasing from 563 to 885.

The average bill at catering outlets varies by city and establishment category. For restaurants, the average bill is 1,291 soms in Bishkek and 650 soms in Osh. Cafes have an average bill of 932 soms in Bishkek compared to 411 soms in Osh. Coffee shops in Bishkek charge 564 soms on average, while in Osh it is 400 soms. Fast food options are priced at 251 soms in Bishkek and 214 soms in Osh, while canteens remain the most affordable choice at 210 soms in Bishkek and 163 soms in Osh.

In December of last year, the most searched food service categories in Kyrgyzstan were cafes, restaurants, fast food, canteens, and coffee shops, showing a continued interest in diverse dining options among consumers.
