CATL’s Debrecen Battery Factory to Start Operations in 2025, Begins Recruitment for Various Positions

Chinese Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited, better known as CATL, is set to kick off their battery factory operations in Debrecen, Hungary, from 2025. However, the company has already commenced the recruitment process for manual and physical workers in the area. According to reports by “World economy” based on local newspaper “dehir.hu,” CATL is launching a branding and recruitment campaign in Debrecen and nearby municipalities, targeting potential employees.

The roles being offered by the company include positions in maintenance, production, quality assurance, engineering, technical, logistics, and office work. The recruitment campaign, which began on February 1, 2024, will promote the career site and open vacancies through public and vehicle advertising, online and print media, as well as local radio stations.

CATL plans to add more than 50 employees to its workforce in the first half of 2024, with expectations for a gradual increase throughout the year. The company is not only looking to employ graduates and skilled individuals but is also interested in hiring trainees who will be provided significant career opportunities once integrated into the company.

Recruitment will continue in the latter half of the year, with a higher demand for physical workers over office staff. Some roles may require a university degree and English language skills, while others are open to those with a secondary school education.

As part of their commitment to nurturing talent in Debrecen and the region, the company will bring in Chinese professionals to provide training and transfer their high-quality technological knowledge to local staff.

CATL has also signed a cooperation agreement with the Vocational Training Center of Debrecen and is in discussions for potential collaboration with the University of Debrecen. The company aims to build strong partnerships with the local community and offer opportunities for students to learn about the latest industry technology and gain exposure to a variety of professional challenges.

This initiative by CATL reflects their dedication to continuous improvement and innovation, not only in their production processes but also in the development of their employees. With the upcoming launch of their battery factory in Debrecen, CATL is gearing up to become a key player in the region’s economic and talent development.
