Caught in the Hotel: A Taxi Driver’s Suspicious Wife

An unidentified person, identified as Tayfun Özişçiler, committed a robbery in Izmir’s neighborhood of Soğukkuyu. According to reports, the suspect used a taxi to transport him to a deserted area in the Bayraklı district where he then threatened the driver, known as the Selfishists, with a pointed object. He proceeded to strangle him and demanded 2 thousand TL before fleeing the scene. The entire incident was captured on the car’s camera.

In the images captured, the suspect can be seen holding a pointed object to the driver’s neck and demanding money from him. He claimed that he was in need of the money for his child and assured the driver that he did not intend to harm him further. Despite the driver handing over the money in his possession, the suspect pressed him for more, to which the driver responded that he had just finished work and had no additional funds. Following the incident, the Selfishists lodged a complaint with the police.

Subsequently, the Izmir Public Security Branch Directorate of Gasp Bureau Chief, in collaboration with the Sam Office and Intelligence Branch Directorate teams, managed to identify the suspect, T.Ç. The teams located T.Ç. and his wife, İ.G.Ç., at a hotel in the Karşıyaka district and conducted an operation to apprehend them. Upon searching the hotel room, authorities found 2 thousand TL and drugs, indicating the couple’s involvement in illegal activities. It was revealed that the couple had a 6-year-old son, who was not present at the hotel during the time of the arrest.

The investigation into the suspects is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge as the case unfolds.
