Causes of Air Pollution in Tashkent Addressed by Ministry of Ecology

The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change has highlighted the causes of high air pollution levels in the capital. According to the Ministry, several factors contribute to the pollution, including the illegal cutting down of about 49 thousand trees during the moratorium period, unauthorized construction work, increased emissions from vehicles, higher coal consumption, and the use of fuel oil as additional fuel by heating plants in the autumn-winter period.

In addition to these factors, the ministry also pointed out that Tashkent’s geographical location, surrounded by mountains, contributes to the accumulation of dusty air in the city.

To address these issues, the ministry has planned a number of initiatives to protect the atmospheric air in the country. This includes the installation of dust and gas cleaning equipment at industrial enterprises, as well as the reconstruction and modernization of existing facilities.

The ministry’s comments come as a response to the growing concern over air pollution in the capital, and it is hoped that these planned initiatives will help to improve air quality and protect the health of the population.
