Çavuşoğlu: Turkey leads in energy consumption for EMU, reaching a limit
Minister of National Education Updates General Assembly on EMU Progress
During his speech at the General Assembly of the Republic Assembly, Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu provided an update on the latest developments regarding EMU.
Çavuşoğlu announced that significant progress has been made in overcoming the challenges faced by EMU, and the aim is to finalize the prepared protocol alongside the collective labor agreement by Friday.
“We have invested a great deal of energy into EMU at the Ministry, and as a result, we have prepared a protocol that addresses the current situation. We have reached a critical point in the protocol thanks to the government’s sacrifices, and we are hopeful that the collective labor agreement will be signed by the end of the week. The government has been actively engaged with EMU, and we have taken on various liabilities amounting to 1.5 billion in taxes and 4 years of insurance payments. We are now on the verge of completing the protocol and the collective bargaining agreement. The only remaining point of contention relates to severance pay, which we are advocating for,” stated Çavuşoğlu.
The Minister emphasized the government’s dedication to resolving the issues surrounding EMU and highlighted the progress made despite initial skepticism. With the end of the protocol and collective bargaining agreement in sight, Çavuşoğlu expressed his optimism for the future of EMU.
