Ceasefire Progresses: Israel and Hamas Begin Negotiations
The three-stage ceasefire process between Israel and Hamas is still ongoing as negotiations continue in Cairo, Egypt. The Egyptian State Information Service announced that discussions have been held to increase the capacity of humanitarian aid delivered to the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Foreign Minister Saar expressed readiness to extend the first stage of the ceasefire agreement in exchange for the release of more Israeli prisoners. This announcement was made during a press conference in West Jerusalem with Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky.
Saar emphasized the importance of finding common ground to extend the ceasefire agreement, but stated that further discussions will take place after the return of the Israeli negotiating delegation from Cairo.
According to Israeli state television, the negotiation committee’s main objective is to secure the release of captive soldiers on March 1st. The delegation will engage in talks in Cairo to address this issue.
