Celebrate Music Legends at the Divas and Icons Exhibition in Hungary – PHOTOS

A new exhibition showcasing the original costumes and personal items of opera divas, film stars, pop, and rock icons has opened at the House of Music Hungary, following its success at London’s Victoria&Albert Museum.

The exhibition, which opened on Friday, features items worn by 70 international divas over the last two hundred years, illustrating their impact on society with their voice and personality. The Hungarian section of the exhibition highlights the costumes and life stories of local performers such as opera diva Éva Marton and actresses Lujza Blaha and Katalin Karády.

Kate Bailey, curator of the V&A London exhibition, stated that the Budapest show has expanded on the original London exhibition, offering a larger and more diverse collection for visitors to enjoy.

Among the iconic items on display are dresses worn by Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Cher, Adele, Sade, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Rihanna, Amy Winehouse, Bjork, Maria Callas, Edith Piaf, Marilyn Monroe, and Elizabeth Taylor.

The exhibition, which attracted 300,000 visitors in London, will be open in Budapest until September 15th. Visitors can witness the evolution of fashion and style in the entertainment industry and learn more about the personal stories of these legendary performers.
