Celebrating World Down Syndrome Day at Cengiz Topel Hospital Garden
In honor of World Down Syndrome Day on March 21, an event was organized in the garden of Cengiz Topel Hospital with the theme “We cooked today, you are for dinner”. This event was a collaboration between Yeşilyurt Special Education and Business Education School and Cengiz Topel Hospital Şazann Cafeteria.
During the event, students from Yeşilyurt Special Education and Business Education School sold and cooked various items, including wafers. The proceeds from the event will be donated to Yeşilyurt Special Education and Business Education School.
Esma İNECİ, the Responsible Teacher at Yeşilyurt Special Education and Business Education School, highlighted that the event was aimed at raising awareness and understanding for individuals with Down syndrome. Latif Abbasoğlu, the Deputy Chief Physician at Cengiz Topel Hospital, emphasized the crucial role of doctors and teachers in supporting children with Down syndrome.
Representing Cengiz Topel Hospital Şazann Cafeteria, Şaziye Özadalı stressed the importance of promoting awareness for individuals with Down syndrome not just on World Down Syndrome Day, but every day.
The event was a meaningful way to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day and contribute to the support of individuals with Down syndrome in the community.
