Central Asia Tech Parks Collaborate for Regional Innovation Success
ASTANA— IT Park Uzbekistan and Astana Hub, two of the leading technology parks in Central Asia, have joined forces to create a new unified brand called Central Asian Innovation Hubs. The main objective of this collaboration is to enhance the startup ecosystem in the region and strengthen its presence on the global innovation stage.
The CEOs of IT Park Uzbekistan, Farhkod Ibragimov, and Astana Hub, Magzhan Madiyev, officially signed a memorandum of cooperation during ICT Week Uzbekistan 2024. This partnership aims to establish a regional identity, exchange expertise in developing startup ecosystems and venture capital funds, and implement joint initiatives to promote promising Central Asian projects internationally.
As part of their collaboration, the tech parks from both countries will be showcasing the unified brand at various major international events by the end of this year. These events include InMerge in Baku, TechCrunch in San Francisco, and WebSummit in Lisbon. At InMerge, four regional startups will be presented to international investors and funds, while TechCrunch and WebSummit will feature 20 and 16 startups respectively.
Furthermore, the partnership between IT Park Uzbekistan and Astana Hub aims to facilitate the involvement of regional startup projects in renowned programs such as the Hero Training Program of Draper University, Stanford HealthTech Accelerator, and Alchemist Accelerator. This collaboration is expected to propel the growth of startup ecosystems in both countries and the wider region, boosting Central Asia’s attractiveness to investors and enhancing the global visibility of regional startups.
In a statement, the CEOs highlighted that the establishment of Central Asian Innovation Hubs will create new opportunities for founders to showcase their innovations to industry leaders worldwide, ultimately driving the overall development of the startup ecosystem in Central Asia.
