Chairman of Cabinet Deploys Capsule at Customs and Logistics Center Construction Site
Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan – The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev, recently participated in the ceremony of laying a time capsule at the construction site of a multifunctional customs and logistics center, Global Hub, in the Alamedin district of the Chui region.
During the event, Kasymaliev highlighted the importance of the project, emphasizing that the warehouse real estate market in Kyrgyzstan is still in its early stages of development. He pointed out that the construction of high-class warehouses is currently lacking in the country and that the customs and logistics center will play a crucial role in strengthening the logistics infrastructure of Central Asia.
“This project is strategic and will address the challenges of our time. With the completion of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and the full operation of the Bedel checkpoint by 2030, the demand for such facilities will significantly increase. Our republic needs to prepare now to accommodate the growing market,” stated Adylbek Kasymaliev.
The total area of the center will exceed 136,000 square meters, with 120,000 square meters dedicated to super warehouses. These warehouses will be equipped with temperature-maintaining systems, refrigeration units for perishable goods, and storage facilities meeting international standards for medicines. Additionally, dry and bonded warehouses are part of the center’s plan.
The project requires an investment of $21 million and is expected to generate over 100 job opportunities. The construction of large warehouses, logistics centers, and hubs is set to significantly boost the economy by facilitating the processing, receipt, and transportation of millions of tons of cargo daily.
