Chairman of Turkmenistan’s Halk Maslahaty meets with CIS Seed Council Head
Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Honors Head of CIS Council on Seed Issues
On September 24, 2024, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with I. Kuzmin, the head of the Intergovernmental Coordination Council on Seed Issues of the CIS. The meeting took place during the International Scientific Conference “Achieved Milestones and Set Tasks in Seed Production of Agricultural Crops” and included the presentation of the highest state award of Turkmenistan to Kuzmin.
Kuzmin expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet in person and commended the organizational excellence of the Halk Maslahaty meeting, highlighting the unity and dedication of the Turkmen people towards a common goal. He has devoted his life to the development of agriculture and seed production research.
In recognition of Kuzmin’s tireless efforts in advancing scientific research in Turkmenistan’s agricultural sector, Hero-Arkadag congratulated him on receiving the prestigious title of Hero of Turkmenistan. Kuzmin considered it a great honor and expressed his appreciation for the acknowledgment of his work, especially in the development of new wheat varieties such as “Serdar,” “Arkadag,” and “Pyragy.”
These wheat varieties are known for their high productivity, disease resistance, and suitability for local soil and climate conditions. This highlights Turkmenistan’s commitment to scientific agricultural development, reinforcing food security and enhancing export potential.
