
Chairman of Turkmenistan’s Khalk Maslakhaty Holds Bilateral Meetings in Republic of Tatarstan

The Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, recently held a series of important bilateral meetings during his working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation. The meetings took place as part of the XV International Economic Forum “Russia-Islamic World” held in Kazan.
One of the key meetings was with Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Konstantin Kosachev. Both parties discussed the importance of the initiatives proposed by Berdimuhamedov at the Forum, focusing on enhancing long-term interstate relations within the framework of “Russia-Islamic World.”
Another significant meeting was with the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, Grigory Karasin. The discussions underscored the strong and friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Russia, highlighting the signing of an Agreement on the creation of an Inter-Parliamentary Commission on Cooperation as a crucial step in strengthening ties between the two countries.
Furthermore, a meeting was held between Berdimuhamedov and the State Councilor of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev. Both parties expressed satisfaction with their discussions, emphasizing the importance of the Turkmen leader’s participation in the economic forum and highlighting the need to fully utilize opportunities for further development of trade and economic relationships.
