Challenges of Labor Migration in Russia and Job Opportunities in Kyrgyzstan

These topics included labor migration, the creation of jobs in Kyrgyzstan, and the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission with Russia.

Labor migration and new requirements in Russia were a major point of discussion. Amangeldiev highlighted changes in Russia’s migration legislation, such as the new requirements for employment contracts, limitations on contract duration, and sanctions for unregistered individuals. He acknowledged the challenges faced by labor migrants from allied countries and expressed his intention to address this issue at the EAEU platform.

Amangeldiev also emphasized the importance of creating new jobs in Kyrgyzstan. He announced the launch of a support program for at least 100 industrial enterprises in 2025, with plans for 146 new facilities. These new enterprises will be mainly located in the regions, aiming to create around 19,000 new jobs this year. Overall, the country could see 50,000-60,000 new jobs in 2025, including those provided by self-employed individuals.

The minister highlighted the current labor shortage in the regions of Kyrgyzstan, pointing to the need for continued efforts to create more job opportunities for citizens. The government’s focus on job creation and economic development is seen as crucial for the country’s growth and prosperity.
